The 31 sculptures that comprised Antony Gormley’s Event Horizon New York installation became familiar – beloved, even – fixtures during their nearly five month-long inhabitation of the sidewalks and skyline in and around Madison Square Park and Manhattan’s Flatiron District. Hundreds of thousands of people from all corners of the globe made Madison Square Park and Event Horizon a destination, and even otherwise impervious New Yorkers fell for the beauty and mystery of the figures populating the architectural treasures high above historic Madison Square Park.
