Last night marked the official release of the Event Horizon New York exhibition catalogue, a gorgeous limited edition account of Antony Gormley’s New York public art debut. And, a limited number of catalogues are now available for purchase at the online shop!
Centered around stunning in situ photography by James Ewing, this hard-cover book features an essay by the artist, an original short story by Booker Prize-nominated author Colm Tóibín, and reflections on Event Horizon by a wide variety of New Yorkers, including NYC Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe, celebrated restaurateur Danny Meyer, acclaimed architects Deborah Berke and Hugh Hardy, and Pentagram Partner Paula Scher and Martin Friedman, Director Emeritus of the Walker Art Center, among others.
Mad. Sq. Art would like to thank Pentagram Design Project Team Paula Scher and Drea Zlanabitnig for their excellent work designing a document befitting this landmark public art exhibition and Antony Gormley’s triumphant United States public art debut. This publication was made possible in part by a generous grant from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
